Overall Summary

1. What do you like best about your school?
  • - supportive administration, active student groups, small class size, accessible faculty, Providence - It would be difficult to find better clinical training for medical students - The smallish size is nice - Providence is a nice place to live - My classmates are a smart, talented group of people - the clinical facilities and teaching during the 3/4th years are excellent and by far the strongest academic aspect of the Brown Medical School - In comarison to other medical schools, Brown has a bit more laid back atmosphere - incredible flexibility to mold your old education, deans are generally supportive of individualized study options (ie-away/foreign electives, independent study projects, research)
  • It is an ivy league school.

12. What do you like least about your school?
  • - Providence - The curriculum is not always practical and pre-clinical preparation could be improved - -Brown does not have need-blind admissions, so there's a high percentage of rich kids - Most medical students are part of the 8-year program at Brown, which makes for a young student body with a paucity of real-world experience - A lot of the teaching during the first two years is pretty weak and poorly coordinated - located in PROVIDENCE, RI
  • The school is abusive.

13. Please share any other thoughts you may have about your school.
  • - consider Dartmouth-Brown program - Overall I'm happy with the education I've received at Brown, and I am adequately prepared (both academically and otherwise) to achieve the career goals I've set out for myself. - overall, a good experience. Brown's strength lies in its clinical training. Also, remember most students are from the undergrad/med school track.
  • Providence is the next New Haven.
